To all THE ARMY in the world who cannot visit the "BTS JAPAN EXHIBITION -THE BEST-" due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I would love to share my full experience of visiting this exhibition with you!
BTS released the "BTS, THE BEST" album in Japan on June 16th, 2021. This album includes two CDs, and the Japanese version of BTS' songs like Film out, DNA, Black Swan, Fake Love etc.
ARMY, if you have Japanese Membership, you can download BTS' digital trading cards (photo card) everyday from this website!
As I am not a native English speaker, you may find typos or unnatural English expressions on this blog. However, I am happy as one of the Japanese ARMY, if you felt like you had really visited this exhibition by reading my blog!
This "BTS, THE BEST" Japan exhibition will be held from June 26 to August 20, 2021 for 56 days. It is divided into two schedules. The first half is from June 26 and the second half will start from July 26. The official announcement said that some of the displays will be changed from the first half to the second half. (I visited this exhibition on July 4th, and applied for the second half as well through the official fan club! I hope I can go to the second half of the exhibition also!)
The venue is at Asobuild in Yokohama, Japan which is a fully renovated building near Yokohama station. Actually, I've lived in Yokohama for more than 30 years, but this is the first time I have visited this building. If you have an opportunity to visit this building, you'll find many Japanese restaurants on the first floor, Asobuild Yokocho アソビル横丁, so you can enjoy Japanese food like sushi, ramen, yakitori, Japanese curry, oden, and Japanese sake etc.
I was so excited to go to this exhibition and finally this day, July 4th has just come!
The ticket cost was ￥2,200 (approx. $20), and the ticket was digital ticket only. I think it was definitely worth purchasing!
Ok, let's go to the waiting room!
I showed my digital ticket to the staff three times and after passing through the entrance, I received eight pages brochure. The color is of course light "Purple"!
A BTS purple poster welcomes ARMY into the waiting room! I took a picture with BTS and my brochure. Each day has 8 sessions and each session has a capacity of around 200 groups - each group contained either 1 or 2 people. In the waiting room, there were a variety of groups - mainly females from 20s-40s. I saw many female friends, some mother(30s-50s) and daughter(10s-30s) groups and a few couples too. About 30% of the groups were individuals. All of the ARMY looked so happy!
You'll find a QR code in the waiting room and please don't forget to scan the QR code in order to send your message to BTS. Your message in Japanese, Korean and English will be displayed on the digital signage in the last section!
Also, you can find another poster for BTS goods. Since I attended the last session of the day, some of goods had already been sold out. But we can purchase them online from here.
Now it's time to enter the exhibition!! Wow
This exhibition is divided into 9 sections. Let's go from the first section!
💜Section 1 : THE BEST, No photography section
When you enter the exhibition, each member's panel jumps into your eyes! The main visual of this Best album is so cool!
This area is one of the crowded areas because all BTS members video is streaming on the screen and they commented about this best album and exhibition. In this video, they wore the main light purple costume and the video lasts just a couple of minutes.
💜Section 2 : Lights (2019)
The setup of this music video has a theater and ATM. There was a mini-theater set up where BTS sat, and you can find popcorn between the seats. When I listen to "Lights" in this section, I sang this song together in my heart.🎤 Unfortunately, we are not allowed to sit on the seat.

💜Section 3：Stay Gold (2020)
This section is the main photo area in this exhibition and the largest and crowded area. When you walk this area, projection mapping of flower, which is main visual of "Stay Gold", follows you! Many ARMY took photos by mapping flowers to brochure.

💜Section 4 : Film out (2021)
"Film out" was released as a Japanese song on April 2, 2021 and was created for the main theme song of a movie titled "Signal". This section was divided into two areas.
One is a set of doors that J-hope, Suga, and Jin used on the MV and another area is a room set with lyrics. I wanted to sit like J-hope but we are not allowed to sit on this door. There were no description of set like museum, so I could not get any details or any episodes of shooting but I enjoyed this section as well.

💜Section 5：TITLE (No photography section)
Titles of past songs and albums were listed on the panel of the both side in the wall in Japanese. The lyrics went through my head! The corridor here is not so crowded, so I could walk through smoothly.
💜Section 6 : EXHIBITION (No photography section)
This section got pretty crowded because there were various exhibits, their signs with their fingerprints on the golden plates, trophies they got in Japan, Japanese magazines with BTS covers and two types of costumes for CDTV and sub costume for Best album.
When I saw their fingerprints on the plates, I could feel that BTS really exists!

I know Jin's shoulder is quite wide and literary his shirts was quite big compared to J-hope or Suga's shirts :)
TMI (Too Much Information): Costume of Dynamite
A Japanese entrepreneur, Yusaku Maezawa and Youtuber, Hikakin won an auction for a Dynamite costume. In the near future, this costume will also be on display in Japan.

💜Section 7 : ALBUM HISTORY (No photography section)
After saying Annyeong (안녕 Bye in Korean) to BTS' costumes, you will see seven album titles from the past to this Best album with panels of each member on right and left hand sides. In their early days, all members look very young with glowing skin and lots of cute smiles.
I could feel their glamorous history as they have grown from boys to young men and becoming more mature and professional.
💜Section 8 : LIVE (No photography section)
When you go from section 7 to section 8, a huge screen will definitely captivate you because their fascinating live video in Japan was being streamed. Even though the video has no sound and looping a short length, some Japanese ARMY were just standing in front of the screen watching the video with tears in their eyes.
ARMY have been waiting for their coming live concerts since COVID-19 pandemic, March 2020. It's been a year and half. When can we meet BTS and see their real live performances? We really missed BTS and it seemed to me that ARMY want to go to BTS concerts.
You'll also enjoy the panels of past four performances in Japan. There were four live titles with panels of each member in four live performances on right and left sides of the wall. All photo panels describe their sweat, tears, the realism and dynamism that only live performances can bring!
I think that this section reminds ARMY their energetic BTS concerts and all ARMY will feel "I can't wait for their live concerts!"
Finally, let's go to the last section!
💜Section 9 : BTS & ARMY (No photography section)
This section is the interactive communication area between BTS and ARMY. The most impressive thing was handwriting messages in Japanese from seven members!! It seems that they practiced to write messages in Japanese many times!
Each message displayed with individual large photo panel wearing main light purple costume. I was touched from their messages in Japanese. Even their messages are simple Japanese without Chinese characters, they definitely practiced how to write Japanese!

At the corner of this section which is the final exhibition, a digital signage with ARMY logo displayed messages from ARMY which we've sent at the waiting area using QR code. Most were written in Japanese but some of them were Korean such as "보고 싶어요 (I miss you)".
Outside of the exhibition, the BTS shop is located. As I attended the last session from 19:20, some of goods have been sold out. But ARMY can purchase goods from online shop from here, BTS JAPAN EXHIBITION -THE BEST- ONLINE SHOP (bts-jp-exhibition.jp)
It was around 25-30 minutes walk exhibition!
Lastly, I hope you could imagine the exhibition of BTS, the BEST in Yokohama, Japan. And also, I hope that ARMY all over the world can visit and enjoy Japanese trip in the near future!
